Kemps salutes local family farmers.
As members of the farmer-owned cooperative that owns Kemps, Garret, a third-generation dairy producer, and Amber Duske are making their own mark on Duske Dairy. Purchased from Garret’s father and uncle last fall, the Duskes milk 100 cows, farm 450 acres of alfalfa, corn and soybeans and raise three kids: Emmit, Hazel and Colten. “They’re (the kids) with me every day in the summer,” Garret says. “I’m showing them work ethic, responsibility and how to take care of things.”
