Since 1914, Kemps farm families have been providing wholesome products to communities throughout the midwest. And now, through The Giving Cow Project, we aim to do even more to care for those in our communities who need it most.
Milk on a Mission
The Giving Cow is an 8 oz. airtight carton of 2% milk that’s shelf-stable for up to a year, which meets the unique requirements of our local food shelves. And it’s not for sale. It’s only available through our partners’ food shelves and backpack programs.
1 in 6 children struggles with hunger in our own backyard.
Milk is one of the most requested items at food shelves, yet it’s one of the least donated, because it requires refrigeration throughout the entire journey from donation to table. Kids-in-need are hit especially hard, even if they get milk through free or reduced-price meal programs at school, because those programs don’t help during the evenings, weekends, or holidays.
An 8 oz. glass of 2% milk is one of the easiest and healthiest ways for kids to get the nutrition they need.
